Seville and Lisbon Iberian Twin-Centre City Break - 6 Nights

Flamenco in Seville and fado in Lisbon, a short flight apart, with all flights and 4-star hotels included.

Experience the best of Iberia on this six-night twin-centre break with Skylord Travel. Begin with three nights in Seville, where the Moorish courtyards of the Real Alcázar, the soaring Giralda and the sweeping curve of Plaza de España make every corner a postcard. Wander the whitewashed lanes of Santa Cruz, feast on tapas and feel the passion of an evening flamenco show.

A short direct flight then whisks you to Lisbon for three nights on its seven hills. Ride a vintage tram up to the Alfama, take in the view from a miradouro, and visit Belém's monastery and riverside tower, stopping for warm custard tarts on the way. As night falls, listen to fado in a tiny tavern. Flights and 4-star hotels in both cities are included.

Fly from the UK to Seville and make your way to your 4-star hotel for a 3-night stay. Spend the evening in the Santa Cruz quarter, wandering its narrow lanes and orange-tree plazas before your first round of tapas. Seville's historic centre is compact and best explored on foot, with horse-drawn carriages also on hand near the cathedral.

Seville

Seville is the vibrant heart of Andalusia, where history, passion and colour fill every street. Explore the majestic Alcázar, the vast Seville Cathedral and the lively plazas of the old town. Flamenco echoes through orange‑scented courtyards, while tapas bars buzz long into the evening. With rich culture, warm sunshine and unmistakable atmosphere, Seville is an unforgettable Spanish destination.

Explore the Real Alcázar, a royal palace of Mudéjar courtyards, tiled halls and fountain-filled gardens. Next door, visit the cathedral, among the largest Gothic churches in the world, and climb the ramps of the Giralda bell tower for views over the city. Book Real Alcázar tickets in advance, especially in spring, when the gardens are at their most beautiful.

Stroll through María Luisa Park to the tiled bridges and canal of Plaza de España, then cross the river to Triana for its ceramics workshops and market. In the evening, watch a flamenco performance in an intimate tablao. Seville is often called the home of flamenco, and an intimate tablao is the best way to feel its intensity close up.

Head to Seville airport for your direct flight of around an hour to Lisbon, then continue to your 4-star hotel for a 3-night stay. Ride up to a miradouro to watch the sun set over the rooftops and the Tagus. Lisbon is built on seven hills, so comfortable shoes are a must. Funiculars and elevators help with the steepest climbs.

Lisbon

The capital of the country situated on the North bank of the River Tagus as it flows under the imposing Vasco Da Gama suspension bridge (the longest in Europe) before it reaches the ocean. Within walking distance of the cruise terminal is the area known as is Belem - with the largest number of heritage sites connected with Portuguese maritime history such as the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos from 1501, the Maritime Museum and the Museum of Archaeology.

The Torre de Belem is another marvellous monument and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Parque das Nações is the site of the 1998 World Fair; and is a lively area where the locals have fun, enjoy shows, go for a walk, play sport and shop. Here you will also find the Oceanário de Lisboa which is one of the largest public aquaria in Europe to promote knowledge of the oceans.

Perhaps visit the Pavilion of Knowledge (Ciência Viva) which is an interactive science and technology museum. Mainly games-based, its exhibitions and activities allow children to explore a variety of themes in an interactive and fun way.

Take the famous number 28 tram through the hills to the Alfama, climb up to São Jorge Castle for sweeping views, then wander back down through the lanes. In the evening, listen to fado over dinner in a traditional tavern. Tram 28 can be very busy, so board early at its Martim Moniz terminus for the best chance of a seat.

Head west to Belém to visit the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, with a stop for pastéis de nata. Alternatively, take the train to Sintra and its colourful hilltop Pena Palace. Sintra is around 40 minutes by suburban train from Rossio station, and its palaces are spread over wooded hills, so allow a full day.

Enjoy a final breakfast and a last coffee in a Baixa café, then head to Lisbon airport for your flight home to the UK. Depending on your flight time, there may be time for a final walk around the Praça do Comércio on the riverfront before you leave.
